St. Patrick's Day 2000
For St. Patrick's Day, The Travelers were invited to play live on Armed Forces Network Radio on Okinawa, followed by a lunchtime show at the United Services Organization at Kadena Air Force Base, and wrapping up, of course, with a standing room only show at The Morrigan's Irish Pub. This page shows the radio and USO shows, while the following pages will take you through the crowds St. Patrick's evening...

Just remember that you can't get an official Mickey, Jack, Rowan, Colleen or Martin autograph unless you see The Travelers perform!
Kicking off St. Patrick's Day at 8 o'clock in the morning, before Martin had a chance to get his morning coffee, The Travelers went on the air live on 89.1 FM on Okinawa. |
Rowan was on a brief trip in the States, but the other four were interviewed and played several songs. Martin is seated behind the equipment. |
Fans later voiced their appreciation of The Travelers' rendition of "What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor?" which included verses about Marines and Airmen as well. |
During the lunch hour, The Travelers provided entertainment at the United Services Organization St. Patrick's Day luncheon. |
Fans both old and new arrived at the Kadena Air Force Base USO for the Irish board of faire and live entertainment. |
As always, The Travelers were obviously having too much fun entertaining the crowds. |
In the evening, it was time to head out to Okinawa's finest Irish pub: The Morrigan's . |
The crowds were ready for a good show, and cheered as The Travelers began entertaining. |
The bar itself was standing room only, as patrons vied for thirst-quenching beverages. Photos by "Brew" Brubaker |
